The role of the counselor is to assess, evaluate and coordinate mental health care for incarcerated individuals and formulate individualized release plans to coordinate a continuum of care

International Health and Medical Services is looking for an experienced Behavioral Health Specialists to assess, diagnose, and treat mental health disorders among patients, ensuring they receive appropriate psychiatric care and support. SUMMARY: The Youth Care Worker is responsible for the daily operation, direct supervision of the residents in the APAC shelter. The Youth Care Worker shall provide a safe, secure, and caring environment for up to 8 gender specific youth within a 24/7/365 work environment. They will work a scheduled shift and be on a “On Call” rotated list to accommodate staff sick calls and facility emergencies.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following for a Youth Care Worker. Other duties may be assigned.
Admission - Obtain paperwork, from the referral source, properly and properly use a case management system. Collect and inventory all personal property, fully understand the process of admission. Complete admission paperwork as set out by licensing requirements (PRLU) and facility guidelines.
Facility Functions- shall be able to use and understand all building functions of in the facility for safety and activity purposes.
Supervision of Youth - must maintain a reasonable line of sight and hearing of the youth based on their needs and circumstances. Youth shall be properly supervised 24 /7 according to licensing standards and assist with their basic needs (physical, emotional, and spiritual).
Transportation of Residents - must maintain a respectful driving record to be determined by the administrative team. Required at times to take and return youth to their appointments as directed.
Maintenance of Residents and Facility - shall ensure all facility conditions are safe and healthy. Shall ensure the youth are provided a minimum of 3 balanced meals daily and additional snacks and beverages according to licensing standards.

Position Summary
The Certified Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor (CVRC) will work under general supervision and is responsible for developing and administering Individualized Plans for Employment (IPEs) and providing counseling, training and/or placement services, and referral services for eligible individuals within state and federal law, departmental and divisional policies and procedures, and administrative direction. The CVRC will also serve as a mentor to non-certified staff upon supervisory request.
This position requires on-site employment with no remote or hybrid options available.
Key Business Processes/Duties
1. Work with the consumer to monitor progress toward job placement and job retention, contacting the consumer a minimum of every 90 days to ensure case progress.
2. Complete 20 new intake/applications each year and explains services, rights, and responsibilities, conducts assessments and coordinates services with other agencies/partners as appropriate. All referrals are moved to application status within 10 business days.
3. Determine eligibility for VR services in accordance with policy. All applications are determined eligible/ineligible within 60 days (minus eligibility extensions)
4. Provides counseling and guidance.
5. Document case management activities by entering case narratives, medical and progress reports into the case management system accurately throughout the case.
6. Maintain confidentiality of records in accordance with agency policy and in compliance with the CRCC code of ethical standards.
7. Assist consumers to develops Individualized Plans for Employment (IPE) within 90 days from eligibility.
8. Maintain an average caseload of 40 active cases with a minimum of 20 or 50% of active cases are successful rehabilitation closures during the evaluation period.
9. Develops 15 first IPEs for consumers entering Service Status.
10. Plan and manage case service funds, prepares and submits proper documentation per status, authorizes services. Enters case notes into case management system within 3 days of the event and has no more than 10 authorizations outstanding over 90 days annually.
11. Complete agency reports, compiles with all applicable federal, state and agency policies and procedures, develops and maintains referral sources.
12. Maintain contact with the consumer at least once every 90 days and documents the case management system. Enters all required supporting documentation into case management system.
13. Demonstrate collaborative activities including but not limited to Workforce and Centers for Independent Living, and other community resources in order to maximize utilization of comparable benefits for VR consumers. Employee will perform other duties as assigned.
14. Conduct an annual plan review on all IPEs each year and documents in the case management system and conducts an annual review on all cases closed ineligible as required.
15. Document measurable skill gains/credential attainment in cases receiving training services, where at least 75% of these cases achieve measurable skill gains/credential attainment.
16. Document income gains from application to closure, where at least 5 or 40% of successful closures achieve an income gain.
17. Complete applicable vocational and functional skills assessments; provides rehabilitation teaching to enhance the employment outcome; provides rehabilitation teaching instruction in activities of daily independent living, use of adaptive equipment and assistive technology, software and devices, arranges for purchase and delivery of instructional and/or adaptive aids and appliances; arranges for Low Vision assessments and trainings; provides basic instruction in Sighted Guide and Orientation to surroundings as needed.
18. Provide assistance in obtaining employment by through counseling and guidance, evaluation of job sites and obtains and utilizes current labor market information.
19. Establishes and maintains rapport with the business community to facilitate job placement by conducting outreach to 2 employers per month and documents contacts also conducts 1 training to employers per quarter.
20. Participate in or conduct in-service trainings, represents agency on task forces, committees, and on local Workforce Boards as assigned; attends training sessions, including those designed to maintain certification; engage in public speaking activities.
21. Attend a minimum of 3 continuing education trainings per year.

Key Responsibilities:
Provide evidence-based psychological services, including screening, assessment, and treatment planning.

Requirements:
Fully licensed as a Licensed Professional Counselor
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
Excellent organizational, verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Maintains own schedule of counseling sessions, and utilize Geriatric Notes Tool (GNT) to complete session notes in a timely manner.
Maintains professional relationships with patients and facility partners.
Ability to work independently and in a team.

COUNSELOR (SECONDARY) QUALIFICATIONS: Arkansas certification in Secondary Counseling REPORTS TO: Building Principal JOB GOALS: The counselor is responsible for implementing and maintaining a guidance program designed to provide optimum development for each student.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Provide counseling for all students using both individual and group methods.
2. Collect, update and maintain educational, vocational, and social informational materials.
3. Conduct group guidance activities to disseminate information including orientation sessions, pre-registration, career units, work opportunities, graduation and promotion requirements, college and other post-secondary institutions' entrance requirements, and financial aid programs.
4. Work with students in educational and vocational planning, provide placement and assist in the scheduling process.
5. Interpret student transcripts and cumulative folders to ensure that students meet graduation requirements
6. Administer the testing program and interpret results to students, parents and faculty for use in placement, program development and individual assessment. Testing includes, along with the district-wide program, college entrance exams and scholarship tests.
7. Maintain cumulative records of each student.
8. Make referrals to both in-district sources and outside agencies.
9. Conduct conferences with faculty, parents and referral agencies.
10. Provide in-service programs for faculty and community in all aspects of the guidance program.
11. Conduct surveys for curriculum planning and program improvement and to supplement the information service such as local job market surveys.
12. Implement short and long-range follow-up studies for curriculum development and to assess current services.
13. Maintain records of activities for reporting purposes, program evaluation and development and self-evaluation.
14. Assist in related areas of knowledge and interest such as curriculum development and student programs.
15. Know Board of Education policies, Desegregation Plan, district and school guidelines and regulations and adhere to same.
16. Assist in the minimum competency program through test administration, interpretation and placement for remediation.
17. Participate in the programs of the district and the individual school, including in-service and faculty meetings.
18. Other duties as assigned.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Salary Range: Teacher Salary Schedule - Placement depends upon education and experience.
Length of Contract: 205 days per contract year
