    Job DescriptionSUMMARY The Youth Intervention Specialist (YIS), in cooperation with the Education Assistant, Education Department Manager, and other Tribal Staff is responsible for planning and developing a youth program that meets the directives of the GTB Education LLL Sub-Department. The Youth Intervention Specialist will provide appropriate activities for the youth serviced by the Tribal Satellite area. The YIS is a role model and advocate for the youth and must have a commitment to excellence and caring when working with tribal member children. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS High School diploma or GED certificate required. Associates degree is required in social work, education or related field * 1-3 years' experience working with Native American Youth. Must have a valid Michigan Driver's License and be insurable by the GTB insurance carrier. Must have and maintain current CPR/First Aid certification. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Work a scheduled 40-hour week, during appropriate hours based on the youth programs that will include evening and weekends or scheduled by supervisor. The schedule is from noon-9pm. Comply with all GTB policies & procedures including the GTB Children's Code. To be in compliance with the Privacy Act and to maintain the highest level of confidentiality of participants served by the program.
