Student success coach and mentor (entry level, paid, full-time) City Year AmeriCorps Member City Year, an AmeriCorps program, helps students across schools succeed. Teams of City Year AmeriCorps members provide support to students, classrooms and the whole school, helping to ensure that students in schools receive a high-quality education that prepares them with the skills and mindset to thrive and contribute to their community. What You'll Do As a City Year AmeriCorps member, your service will focus on coaching and mentoring elementary, middle and/or high school students. You will help these students earn academic success, improve their attendance, and develop positive behaviors at school. You will plan and monitor individual student progress and work with teachers on whole class instruction, breakout spaces and other in-class student assistance. Role and Responsibilities Experience in all these tasks is not necessary. We provide 2-4 weeks of training at the beginning of the year to support you. Plus, you will work with partner teachers and school staff every step of the way. Job DescriptionDescription: Scarlet Oak Tavern is seeking a dynamic, experienced server/bartender. This hybrid role will work both floor and bar shifts, creating a memorable dining experience for our guests wherever they dine. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food, knowledge of craft cocktails, wine, and craft beer; as well as possess exceptional customer service skills and a positive attitude. Candidates should have a minimum of 5 years of hospitality work history, with at least 3 years bartending experience in a full-service, high-volume restaurant. Responsibilities: Greet guests and provide a warm and welcoming atmosphere Take food and drink orders and accurately relay them to the kitchen and bar staff using our POS Serve food and beverages to guests in a timely and professional manner Craft cocktails to exacting recipes (including proper technique) Check on guests frequently to ensure their needs are met and they are enjoying their experience. Maintain knowledge of our menu items and beverages in order to make recommendations to your guests Handle cash and credit card transactions accurately and efficiently Collaborate with other staff members to ensure smooth and efficient restaurant operations Requirements: Minimum of 5 years of hospitality experience 3 years of bartending experience, with a focus on craft cocktails Excellent customer service skills Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment Ability to handle cash and credit card transactions accurately Ability to stand for long periods of time, carry a tray, and lift 30lbs Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays Requirements:
